Shotokan Karate Training In Kuala Lumpur & Selangor

Our history & perspective about SHOTOKAN KARATE.

We started teaching Karate in early 1990, in Taman Tasek Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. At that time our training comprised of Shotokan Karate, Shito-ryu Karate, Kempo Karate, Kenjutsu Karate, Kyokushin Karate, Wado-Ryu Karate, Budokan Karate & Gojo-Ryu Karate.

Instructors & Black belts came from many KARATE styles locally and some were from overseas. Combination & exchange of cultural or techniques were our arsenal those days. Our instructors & students worked independently & voluntarily; no one were above anyone except respect, knowledge & skills.

In the year 2000 up to year 2015, we trained in Japan Club Kuala Lumpur & few other Dojos around Kuala Lumpur. We participated in several invitational tournament starting from year 1994 up to now.

Dr.S.Suhaizy the Chief Instructor for this group, had trained under various local, United Kingdom & Japanese Instructors focus on Shotokan Training, Shito-ryu Training & other styles. He had attended countless international seminars conducted by esteem Grandmasters of Karate worldwide.

Naming a few, he attended regular training locally under Shihan Sheikh Naser Annuar (Shito-ryu), Shihan Ramly Abdullah (Police Shotokan), attended Shihan Hirokazu Kanazawa’s Shotokan seminars & Shito-Ryu Seminars conducted by Shihan Toshiyuki Imanishi, Takashi Haragushi & Katsuhiko Katawa.

SHOTOKAN KARATE is preparing our KARATEKA to continue the KARATE legacy of Dr.S.Suhaizy for the future generation. Students were educated to keep a willing heart & open mind in life. Apart from consistent training, we organized & participate in all Karate events that extended their invitation to our Head Office.

We implement “BUDO” principles in our training routines & teach our combat athletes to exercise full control in all of their combat executions.

Morally, we emphasis on the philosophy taught by the founder of Shotokan Karate Gichin Funakoshi (10th November 1868 – 26th April 1957) and all his pioneer & senior students, especially Masatoshi Nakayama (13th April 1913 – 15th April 1987), Hirokazu Kanazawa (3rd May 1931 – 8th December 2019) whilst deeply respecting the following figures Kenwa Mabuni (14th November 1889- 23rd May 1952), Masatatsu Oyama (27th July 1923 – 26th April 1923), Chojun Miyagi (28th April 1888 – 25th October 1953), Hironori Otsuka (1st June 1892 – 29th January 1982).
